In March 2011, Tommy was one of the state's top dogs invited to compete for Best of Winners at this prestigious event. Only 32 dogs were eligible to compete in this "knock out" contest. Tommy was successful in all rounds until the last two dogs-himself and the winner. What an unexpected and thrilling achievement to have got so far in this competition.

Juha wins Best of Breed at first shows for 2011

At our first show weekend for 2011-it was a nice breed outcome for Kailasa under Wendy Baker (SA) at the Canine Fundraiers Championship Show. Dog CC and Best of Breed went to Juha( Kailasa Here Comes The Sun (ai) ) and bitch CC to his litter sister, Eevie-Ch Kailasa Wish Upon A Star (ai).
Juha followed with another Best of Breed under Shane Tonkin the following weekend. Bitch CC and Class in Group win went to Karis (Kailasa Apsolute Karisma)

It was a nice finish to 2010 with Tommy winning Best In Group under Anna Pozerski and then Best State Bred in Show under Specials judge, John Forbes from NSW.

It is always an honour to be awarded by breed specialists. At the Hills Kennel Club on 14th November, Tommy won Best of Breed and then Best In Group under Graeme Treacy (Victoria) former Lhasa breed exhibitor and breeder (Hoxter Kennels). This was followed up by Best State Bred In Show under Gish Lesh (NSW).

The Sunking makes his debut

Chic Choix The Sunking finally came "home" after spending his first two years in Sweden with Sten and Ingela Lofgren where he produced some wonderful puppies for Stings Lhasa Apsos.
His first show at Oriental Breeds Society in November was a good start, Reserve Dog CC and Runner Up Best of Breed to Best In Show winner, Tommy.

We had a fantastic day at the Oriental Breeds Society of WA Championship Show on 7th November. Judge, Jenny Egan awarded Tommy (Ch Kailasa Affair Oth Heart) Dog CC, Best of Breed and then Best In Show. Juha (Kailasa Here Comes The Sun) was also awarded a Class In Show.

Non Sporting Dog Club Champions Challenge

On the 24th October, Tommy (Ch Kailasa Affair Oth Heart) and Eevie (Ch Kailasa Wish Upon A Star (AI) ) were invited to compete as the top pointscore male and female breed representatives, at the Non Sporting Dog Club's Champions Challenge. Both showed really well with Tommy going through a series of elimination heats to the final four placings. He was then selected by a panel of five judges as Runner Up Best Exhibit. He was presented with a wonderful silver cup and rosette as well as a cash prize. Thank you to NSDC for your organisation of this special event.

29 August at the Hills Kennel Club show, Tommy wins Best of Breed under Maureen Wilkinson (WA). It didn't end there. After Runner Up Best In Group, Tommy did well in General Specials under Sue Mallia (WA)winning Best State Bred In Show. Tommy thinks dog shows should be fun. Another nice win for Tommy on 8th August. After being awarded Best of Breed under Phillip Poulton (NSW), Tommy went on to win Runner Up to Best In Group. His baby "sister" Eevie, Ch Kailasa Wish Upon A Star (AI) was Bitch CC and Runner Up Best of Breed.

Oriental Breeds Society of WA Shows in July

On 4 July, the Oriental Breeds Society of WA ran their Open and Championship Shows on the one day.
At the Open Show, judge Robert Beattie awarded Tommy Best In Show.
The Championship Show was judged by Nils Molin (Sweden). We had some good breed results. Tommy was Dog CC and Best Of Breed. He also won Best State Bred In Show. Juha was Reserve CC and Runner Up Best of Breed and Karis on her second outing in two years, was bitch CC.
As this is a special show for Lhasa Apsos, we had our talented friend Anne Jellett design the advertisements for the catalogue. As usual, she did a brilliant job.
We also came home with some wonderful Eaglepack product from sponsors CC Enterprises. Thank you Colin for supporting the club again.

Hills Kennel Club -Tommy wins Best In Group

Tommy had yet another good win under Rick Berwick (WA)on 3 July. He won Best of Breed and then Best In Group. Reserve CC and Runner Up Best of Breed went to baby half brother Juha (Kailasa Here Comes The Sun (AI) ). Tommy then showed under Specials judge Frank Waring for Consolation State Bred In Show. Thank you to the Hills Kennel Club for the great prizes. We won some wonderful cash vouchers for Glynn and Joan Makin's WA Show Supplies dog shop....one of our favourite shopping places.

June 12th we had our Non Sporting group Championship and Open shows on the one day and Tommy went back to back Best In Show.
Open Show judge, Robert Beattie gave Tommy BOB and Best In Show. Half sister Eevie went bitch CC, RUp BOB and Best Junior In Show, winning the Patron's Trophy.
At the Championship show, Dr Karen Hedberg (NSW)gave Tommy BOB and then he went on to win Best In Show. Thanks Tommy for such a wonderful effort today...two Best In Show awards! .

Another nice weekend for the Lhasas. Tommy won Runner Up to Best In Group at the Saturday show under Mrs Lyn Neimann (South Australia) and repeated the result on the Sunday under Jonathon Marshall (Victoria).Bitch CC on both days went to baby half sister, Eevie (Ch Kailasa Wish Upon A Star (AI)), one of our lovely puppies from the frozen semen litter.

At the Fremantle Dog Club and Canine Stewards Autumn Double Header, 8th/9th May, we had another nice weekend at the shows: fine weather and some good results.On the Saturday under Edwina Thomas (NSW) , Tommy won Best of Breed and Class in Group. The following day, under Sharon Edmunds (NSW), Tommy was again dog CC and Best of Breed while half sister, Eevie was bitch CC, Tommy then went on the win Runner Up Best In Group.Thank you to the judges on this weekend and to my Lhasas for showing so well

On the 25th April, in beautiful autumn weather, Tommy won another Best In Group at the Metropolitan Kennel Club championship show . The judge was Sue Foster from South Australia.
Following his big half brother into the challenge line up was 12 month old Juha (Kailasa Here Comes The Sun). Juha was reserve challenge and Runner Up Best of Breed.

Kalamunda Show on April 17th, produced a great outcome for the litter mates, Kailasa Wish Upon A Star (AI) and Kailasa Here Comes The Sun (AI).

Eevie was Best of Breed and Juha won another Best Junior In Group-both under Mrs C Smith (South Australia). Then Juha went on to win Best Junior In Show under Mrs M Courtney-Reid, also from South Australia. Thank you Anne Howell for taking the photo of Eevie.

We attended several small shows over the Easter break with some success at each of them.
Easter Saturday, Juha (Kailasa Here Comes The Sun) was Best in Group at the All Breeds Dog Club Open Show under Sally Baxter. His litter sister Eevie (Kailasa Wish Upon A Star )was Puppy In Group winner.
The following day, Best of Breed went to Tommy (Ch Kailasa Affair Oth Heart) under Mavis Cochrane at a Building & Amenities Championship show. Whilst Juha went Junior in Group. The following day, another Building & Amenities show, Eevie was Puppy in Group winner.

At the Building and Amenities Show under Sue Mallia (WA)on the 14th March, Tommy had a great night, winning Best In Group and then Runner Up to Best In Show. Eevie also did well, winning Best Puppy In Group.

Karis wins Runner Up In Group Under Breed Specialist

We entered a team of Lhasas for breed specialist Paul Stanton (Tintavon-Sweden) at the prestigious Western Classic show at the end of February. The grey bitch, Kailasa Apsolutely Karisma had not been shown since early 2008 so it was very nice to see her move so well for bitch CC and then Best of Breed. Thank you to friends who handled our all Kailasa bitch CC line up-Penny Kelly with Lola ( Open Bitch class winner), Peter Boekelman handling Karis (Australian Bred class winner),then myself with Audrey (Intermediate Bitch class winner) and Anne Howell with Eevie (Puppy Class winner and Reserve CC). Tommy was reserve Dog CC winner.
It was indeed an exciting achievement to have Karis go on to win Runner Up Best In Group .

Edmund wins Singapore's Top Puppy 2009 all breeds

January 30th, I get the FANTASTIC news . Kailasa The Cloud Walker (Edmund) has just won Singapore's Top Puppy 2009. Thankyou so much to Stanley Shen who has looked after Edmund so well and shown him to this top award from very limited showing. You guys are making a wonderful team. I am proud of you both.

Our second show for the year was on the Sunday, 24th January. Eevie showed for the last time in Minor Puppy class and was Best Minor Puppy in Group under judge, Frank Waring. Tommy won Best of Breed.

Last Show Weekend For The Year December 12/13

What a hot weekend! With temperatures in the high 30s, it was ice mats and plenty of cold water for the last two shows of the year; one a day show and the other, our favourite-a return to the summer season's night shows.
At the All Breeds Dog Club show on the 12th, Marion Watson awarded Tommy Best State Bred in Group.
At the WA Kennel Club Open Show on 13th December, Tommy went Best In Group under Bob Beattie, then Best in Show under Mrs Lee Parker. It was very hot even though we showed under the pavilion. Thank you Tommy for giving your best.
Then we had the WAKC Championship show. the temperature had dropped and it was such a shame we weren't on the grassed rings. Tommy was Runner Up to Best In Group under Mr Andrew Beattie (WA) then State Bred In Show under Mr Graeme Missen (Victoria)
Now a nice break for the dogs and no more showing in the hot sun until Autumn.

Bunbury & Districts Dog Club 5/6 December 2009

We don't usually travel to a lot of shows outside the city but the B&DDC shows are an exception. The two shows at the beginning of December resulted in two CCs to Eevie (Kailasa Wish Upon A Star AI)and a Best Puppy in Group and then Best Puppy In Show for her brother Juha (Kailasa Here Comes The Sun)under Ms K Tosi (Qld) and Mr Ian Rasmussen(Qld) respectively

It was a compliment to win Dog CC and Best of Breed under Lhasa Apso breeder, Peter Primrose (WA) at the Wanneroo Agricultural Society Championship dog show run by The West Australian Terrier Club Inc. The day finished for us very nicely with Runner Up to Best Exhibit in Group.

What a fantastic day we had at the Oriental Breeds Society of WA shows on Sunday November 8th . Best in Show at the OBS Open Show, judged by Mrs Lee Parker, went to Tommy (Ch Kailasa Affair Oth Heart). But the day got even better as we exhibited in the Championship show under Andrew Burt (Victoria). Dog CC and BOB went to Tommy with bitch CC to the young Eevie. Then, the ultimate accolade was Best In Show under the same judge.

It really was Eevie's show at the All Breeds Dog Club Championship show on the last weekend in October. Still only 6 months of age, Eevie was awarded her second CC, in good competition under Mr Tony Valli (NSW). What a wonderful achievement when our little "Star" went one better and was also Best of Breed.

Bon Voyage Edmund and great news from Singapore

It was a very emotional farewell to my lovely little guy Edmund-Kailasa The Cloud Walker who took a flight to Singapore to stay with my good friend, Stanley Shen (Egoiste Lhasa Apsos). Edmund arrived in Singapore late Friday and by Sunday was at three international shows being awarded three Best of Breeds under Frank Waring, (Australia) Masamitsu Fukushima, (Japan) and Sae-Hyun An(Korea) . He was also 3rd in Group and Reserve Puppy in Show (All-Breeds) under Mr Fukushima.
Well done and what a surprise! I thought he was only going to the show to see what it was like.

First Show For The Babies July 09

The frozen semen babies from Madison(Kailasa Xquisite) and Tazi(Norwegian/Estonian/Lithuanian/Finnish/Swedish/Latvian/International Champion Chic Choix Touch Of Class) also made their debut in July at the ABDC show.
Juha (Kailasa Here Comes The Sun) and Eevie (Kailasa Wish Upon A Star)both won their classes at this show, with baby Juha , Best Baby In Breed.
Their litter sister. Willow (Kailasa Affair To Remember) also started her show career with her family at Sooquan Lhasa Apsos.
Thank you Marilyn and the girls, for the fantastic opportunity to cooperate with one another to produce this litter.

Such exciting news and the result of a LOT of cooperation-Madison(Kailasa Xquisite) has four babies from the frozen semen of Estonian/Lithuanian/Finnish/Swedish/Latvian and International Champion Chic Choix Touch Of Class (Tazi). A HUGE thankyou to Marilyn, Leigh,Karen and Beryl (Sooquan) who entrusted their last straws of the semen to my self and vet ,Dr Steve Metcalfe. We have two boys and two girls.

Top Open Show Dog 2008

We also received the news mid January 2009, that Tommy was the Top Open Show Dog for the Non Sporting group and would compete at the prestigious Classic show in March along with representatives from the other six groups, for the top award. Tommy showed so well on the night and became the Canine Association of WA's Top Open Show Dog 2008, in March.

It was an exciting end to 2008 with Tommy (Ch Kailasa Affair Oth Heart) finishing #2 Non Sporting Dog in Western Australia and #1 Lhasa Apso. The last show of the year was the Canine Fund Raisers New Year's Eve show which saw Tommy win Best In Group - a significant win under Lhasa Apso breeder/judge, Peter Primrose. This was followed by a Best in Group win under Pam Campbell and Runner Up to Best In Show, under Peter Tallentire in January.
